How it’s built
Built for high-stakes review
Isolation and access are enforced in code at the database layer — not promised in policy.
- Tenant isolation Every query is scoped by conference ID; cross-conference reads are impossible by design.
- Role-aware access Chair, reviewer, and author boundaries are checked server-side on every protected page.
- Full audit trail Decisions, grants, and assignments are logged with identity, timestamp, and IP.
- Hardened by default OWASP-aligned defenses applied across the stack, on by default.
- OWASP Top 10 defenses
- CSRF token on every state change
- 5 failed logins → 15-min lockout
- PDF checked by extension · MIME · magic bytes
- Prepared statements throughout
- 30-min inactivity timeout

Organizers
How do I create a conference?
Log in as an organizer, go to your dashboard, and click “New Conference”. You’ll configure the slug, dates, and submission window before the conference goes live.
Can I configure how many reviewers each paper gets?
Yes. The “Paper Reviewer Limit” in conference settings sets the default maximum number of reviewers per paper. Chairs can override this on a per-paper basis from the paper detail page.
What is the difference between the paper reviewer limit and the workload cap?
The paper reviewer limit controls how many reviewers are assigned to a single paper. The workload cap controls the maximum total assignments a single reviewer can hold across all papers. Both can be set to 0 for unlimited.
How does the reviewer workload cap work?
Organizers set a maximum cumulative assignment count per reviewer in the conference settings. The chair’s assignments page shows a live per-reviewer progress bar — green when all reviews are done, amber when pending assignments are within the cap, red when at or over the cap. Setting the cap to 0 disables it entirely, allowing unlimited assignments.
Can I override the reviewer limit for a specific paper?
Chairs can set a per-paper override from the paper detail page. The override applies only to that paper — all other papers continue using the conference default.
Chairs
How do I assign reviewers to papers?
From the Assignments page, select a paper and choose reviewers from the available pool. The workload summary table shows each reviewer’s current load before you assign, so you can distribute work evenly.
What do the workload bar colours mean?
Green means all assigned reviews are complete. Amber means reviews are pending but within the cap. Red means the reviewer is at or over their workload cap.
What happens when a reviewer hits their cap?
The system does not block the assignment, but the reviewer’s bar turns red in the workload summary as a visual warning. The chair decides how to proceed — the cap is advisory, not a hard block.
How does the tie-breaker suggestion appear?
On a paper’s detail page, once the review count reaches the configured threshold and the split is even, a highlighted advisory card appears above the assignment controls. It shows the current mix (e.g., “2 positive, 2 negative”) and offers two actions: suggest one more reviewer, or dismiss with a reason.
Reviewers
How do I know which papers I’m assigned to?
Your reviewer dashboard lists all papers assigned to you, along with their current status and your review deadline.
Can I see my total assignment count?
Your dashboard shows your total assigned papers and how many reviews you have completed versus pending.
Authors
How do I submit a paper?
Log in as an author, navigate to your conference dashboard, and click “Submit Paper”. Fill in the title, abstract, and upload your PDF. The submission window must be open for the conference.
How do I know when a decision has been made on my submission?
Your author dashboard displays the current status of each submission. You will see the decision (accept or reject) once the chair publishes it for your paper.
